Finding The Best Home Phone

When my wife and I bought our first home, we realized that it might be nice to switch over to cell phones instead of having a home line. Unfortunately, we quickly discovered that without a home phone, babysitters wouldn't have a way to call us or emergency lines if something were to happen. Because we go on regular date nights, we decided that it was probably time to start shopping around for a new phone. Unfortunately, we weren't prepared for what we would find at the store. We quickly discovered features that we didn't know existed, and we were confused. My blog breaks down different features you might find in a home phone, so that you can make the best choice for your family.

Three Signs That Your Cellphone Needs A New Battery

When you buy a new cellphone and begin to use it, you can be confident that the device's battery is in good working order. Over time, the battery can begin to show signs of wear — resulting in issues that may start to affect the phone's performance. While some people upgrade their phones at this point, doing so isn't your only option. Another choice is to visit a cellphone repair shop to have a technician assess your device's battery. In many cases, the technician will carefully remove the existing battery and replace it with a brand-new one. Here are three signs that your cellphone likely needs a new battery.

Decreased Battery Life

Perhaps the easiest way to tell that your cellphone could benefit from a new battery is that your current battery life is decreasing. For example, you might have been able to use your phone for the entire day and beyond when you bought it. Over time, you may find that it no longer lasts for an entire day. As the months progress, you may find yourself in a scenario in which you need to charge the phone one or more times during the day. A new battery will give your phone the battery life that it once had.

Charging Issues

There are all sorts of battery charging issues that can indicate a problem with your device's battery — and should compel you to visit a local repair shop. For example, when you attempt to charge your phone, you may notice that the battery takes an extremely long time to fill up. In other scenarios, the charging results may seem unusual. For example, the indicator might jump to 100 percent in just a few minutes, but once you use the phone for a short period of time, you get a warning about low battery life.

Noticeable Heat

A lot of cell phones will get hot when you've used them for a prolonged period of time, but setting the device down for a while will typically cause the battery to cool down. When a battery is older or in poor condition, it may get very hot even after a short period of using the phone and may remain hot for an extended duration afterward. Depending on what phone case you're using, you'll often be able to feel a considerable amount of heat coming from the device. This is another sign that you should visit a repair shop to have someone replace your phone's battery.
